You love what you do and are really rather good at it.
But you can't quite capture all the imagery you want to at each wedding and struggle find your unique style in an often crowded world.
You're not attracting the right clients, feeling frustrated that you're not charging your worth and lack a strategy to move your business forward.
Held at the beautiful Deans Court, this residential workshop has been intentionally designed to allow you to focus not only on your photography skills but also your business acumen. Hosted by renowned photographer Zosia Zacharia and leading wedding planner & business consultant Kim Balasubramaniam this retreat will change the way you run your wedding photography business for life.
Today is all about getting crystal clear on who you want to work with and how to capture the very essence of each of your clients. Practical sessions include finding the perfect light, posing techniques and of course a beautifully styled shoot inside Deans Court House itself, with a real bridal model.
Arrive at leisure from 4pm on the first afternoon and meet your fellow attendees and hosts. You can explore the beautiful grounds and interiors of our home for the retreat; The Gate House and the surrounding area. Welcome cocktails and delicious dinner will set the tone for a packed, nurturing and inspiring two days ahead.
The concept of community and collaboration is one that has always been hugely important in both of our businesses. We have put aside plenty of time throughout the retreat for discussion-based sessions and time to make those all important connections. We're all in this together.
This is the day for planning! How to make each wedding day flow with ease, even when you're under pressure, so you can get the shots you need. There are also masterclasses on subjects including pricing, managing your workflow, well-being and social media. Naturally there is also a gorgeously styled shoot to photograph.
You will be staying at The Gate House of Deans Court. Rooms are super stylish & are available on both a shared and individual basis.
Two delicious & beautiful dinners plus breakfast, lunch and homemade treats throughout the retreat.
Zosia has been a wedding photographer for the last ten years and is passionate about sharing her extensive experience and expertise with you.
Kim Balasubramaniam has been producing exquisite weddings for 15 years and is now an in-demand consultant for wedding businesses.
We understand the importance of a community and trusted network. We believe the connections made at Luminaries will be for life.
A beautiful welcome box and lots of other exquisite treats throughout the two days all add to the magic!
Make the most of your time with us. We have devised a thoughtful journal based book to help you prepare in advance of the retreat.
A beautiful keepsake. We will give you access to all the talks and handouts that are part of each session so there's no need to frantically note take, allowing you to fully concentrate and be present in the room.
We both love gift giving and have curated a delightful box of goodies to welcome you ahead of the retreat. Delivered a few weeks before the start of the workshop.
As an added bonus you'll receive an hour's follow up call each with both Zosia and Kim a couple of months after the retreat to check-in, see how you're doing and answer any questions.
I have worked with hundreds of businesses since 2005 when I became a luxury wedding planner. I know the world of weddings inside-out and have a reputation for a calm, considered and nurturing approach to business consultancy. My understanding of a high-end international clientele combined with my extensive knowledge of the industry enables me to help other discerning wedding business owners elevate their brands, work with the clientele they really want to and build businesses that fit their lives. I am incredibly excited to be working with Zosia on the Luminaries Retreat and just know it'll be life-changing for everyone who attends.
Whilst I was born and raised in London, my Greek-Polish heritage sparked a curiosity in travel and culture from an early age. I’ve since been fortunate enough to live and work in some unforgettable locations around the world during an 18 year career in the fashion industry. It was during this time that I fell in love with the art of creating beautiful products that tell a meaningful story – something which continues to inspire and drive my work every day. I’m an old-fashioned romantic at heart - always seeking out the beautiful, luminous details in life, big or small.
I'm so looking forward to sharing all the knowledge and skills I've learnt over the years with all the attendees of the retreat & teaching alongside Kim.
The retreat has been designed for wedding photographers who want to elevate their businesses. You're likely to have been in the world of weddings for some time but want to now take things to the next level. You want to work with a discerning clientele and have a refined brand, and a business that works for you and fits your life.
Almost 50/50. We understand that one cannot function without the other and it's vital to have both in order to run a high end photography business so we have placed equal time into each. A lot of topics overlap though so we'll both be in each session.
There are two beautiful styled shoots designed for the workshop. One with a bridal model and one brimming with details. We have been given special access to the house itself which is simply stunning.
